How to Associate a Contact to a Contact
Linking people to each other — for example, an adviser to their politician
Some of the most useful intelligence in Hive is who works for whom. Contact-to-contact associations capture that — most commonly, linking a politician to their staff.
These links are always added manually. Hive won't create them for you.
Available association labels
- Chief of Staff
- Adviser
- Executive Assistant
Linking two contacts
Step 1. Open the contact's record. On the right-hand side, find the Contacts section and click + Add.

Step 2. Search for and select the contact you want to associate.

Step 3. Choose the correct association label, then save.

Getting the direction right
Association labels describe a relationship, so check you're applying the label to the right person. The label describes the contact you are adding, not the record you started on.
If you're on a Minister's record and adding their Chief of Staff, the label goes on the staff member.
